Job summary

VIKA is seeking an entry-level planning professional in the Tysons area to support project planners and the Director of Planning in preparing planning documents for development phases. This role offers exposure to zoning codes, land use regulations, and environmental laws as they apply to projects.

You will develop skills in planning software, GIS, and basic land development concepts while coordinating with clients and VIKA’s multi-disciplinary teams to meet local jurisdiction requirements.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Planning preferred
• Knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)
• Experience with water, sewer, and utility design; roadway and site design/layout
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Planning Support: assist Project Planners and Director of Planning in entry-level capacity
• Technical Development: gain proficiency in planning software and GIS applications
• Project Coordination: coordinate with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams
