Starboard Cruise Services is seeking a Planning Coordinator to join our Inventory Planning and Logistics teams in Miami. You will create and modify purchase orders, track shipments, and maintain vendor communications to ensure timely merchandise availability for multiple categories.

You will support the Planning & Distribution teams, resolve shipping issues, and generate reports to help guide strategic decisions. The role emphasizes collaboration across departments and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders for multiple categories of business.

  • Resolve issues related to performance and inbound flow of goods and communicate findings to stakeholders.

The Planning Coordinator is a crucial role that works closely with our Inventory Planning and Logistics teams, in conjunction with our vendorcommunity, to facilitate timely merchandise availability. This individual will support multiple categories of business by partnering with theircorresponding Planning and Distribution teams and in the future will be part of a small pool of global planning coordinators. The key componentsare creating and modifying purchase orders, tracking shipments, maintaining order files, communicating with vendors and internal teams to resolveshipping issues, and providing reports and analysis to support decision making.

What you’ll be doing:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purchase Order and Vendor Management:

  • Process purchase orders for multiple categories of business
  • Daily tracking of all shipments from vendor to distribution center and/or direct to ship
  • Partner with vendor community and Starboard’s Logistics and Transportation team to ensure timelyshipment of orders and to ensure vendors are complying with shipping guidelines
  • Work with vendors, Merchandising & Planning teams and Logistics to resolve any issues related toperformance and/or inbound flow of good
  • Reporting (run data queries, prepare reporting, and communicate findings and actions
    • Weekly – internal dept. meetings
    • Monthly – to key vendors as identified
  • Manage vendor inquiries
  • Ensure cross departmental communication to resolve outstanding issues

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Identify and communicate opportunities to maximize order tracking and vendor compliance
  • Consistently communicate anticipated purchase order challenges and possible solutions to allstakeholders
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings with planning team to discuss strategies andpriorities. Present all findings, suggestions and business opportunities to the team
  • Support new vendors by providing packaging, documentation and routing guidelines to ensureproper shipping requirements are followed and potential delays are avoided
  • Assist with other Planning & Distribution team projects and category specific tasks as needed

Interpersonal Management:

  • Build a reputation as a positive contributor within Starboard in all interrelations and communication.
  • Acquire knowledge from departments within the organization to gain an understanding of Starboardprocesses and key business partners.
  • Leverage interpersonal relationships to accomplish day-to-day needs
What we’re looking for:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • 1 -2 Years of Experience
  • High School or Equivalent required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum 1-2 years retail experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • MS Office with advanced proficiency with Excel including the use of pivot tables and formulas
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Decision Making:

  • Duties and activities reviewed periodically. Supervisor monitors work progress and determines actions on unusual items. Moderate level of problem solving ability.

Other:Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkSome flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of "8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m." Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands:Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
