The North Carolina Zoo is growing and seeking an energized and collaborative oriented Maintenance/Construction Project Manager. This position serves as the lead project manager responsible for the development and management of new construction, renovation and major repair projects for the North Carolina Zoo Planning & Construction section, under the supervision of the Planning & Construction Manager and the Director of Facilities Operations. This position manages the design and construction process for capital improvement and renovation projects of simple to large complexity, scope and size; and represents the interests of the North Carolina Zoo throughout the planning, design and construction process, with emphasis on customer service.

Demonstrated knowledge of NC General Statutes and NC Building Codes relating to engineering, planning, design, consulting, contract administration, construction, renovation, and/or major maintenance and repair. Demonstrated knowledge to estimate costs, monitor & manage construction projects. Engineering/architectural/landscape design, construction administration experience, capital project management experience. Experience in sustainable building practices. This position is deemed eligible for hybrid telework under DNCR’s Telework Policy.
