City of Andover KS is seeking a Planning & Zoning Administrator to lead our planning and zoning functions, guiding daily administration of land use regulations and long-range planning initiatives. The Planning & Zoning Administrator serves as the operational lead for the City's planning and zoning functions, overseeing daily administration of land use regulations, long-range planning initiatives, and development review processes. This position exercises professional judgment in interpreting and applying the City's zoning, subdivision, and floodplain regulations, and serves as the primary staff liaison to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Site Plan Review Committee. The Administrator works closely with the Director of Community Development on policy development and strategic planning efforts, and represents the Department in direct engagement with residents, developers, contractors, and other governmental agencies. This position supervises the Planning Technician and plays a supporting role in the City's broader economic development activities.
Hiring Range is $54,414 - $69,763
Pay is determined based on prior years of experience. Experience credit is also given for honorable military service time served

Vacation Leave — Available after the end of the training period (at least 6 months). Vacation accrues each pay period (every 2 weeks) and the accrual rate is based on years of service.
Sick Leave - Accrue 8 hours of sick leave per month, no wait period.
Holidays - The City provides 11 paid holidays.
Medical and Dental Insurance – The City covers at least 85% of the premiums of all plans. Available 1st of the month following the date of hire.
Retirement – After the training period, the City will contribute 7% of gross compensation into a 401a plan and will match up to 3% of employee contribution for a total of 10%. The City does not participate in KPERS; only KP&F for police and fire employees.
