Location: Remote (U.S.)
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, Day Shift (Flexible)
Contract Type: W2 Contract
Pay: $30/hr + optional benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k)

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Planning & Design Engineer II to support the Central and Northeast Divisions for a major telecommunications provider. This is a fully remote contract role focused on coax and fiber design, project coordination, and supporting multiple network upgrade and reclamation initiatives.
If you enjoy hands‑on design work, partnering with construction teams, and ensuring accurate, high-quality deliverables, this is an excellent fit.
Perform Coax and Fiber network design, ensuring all work meets established engineering and compliance standards.
Review and validate as-built documentation, performing QC, proofing, and final approval of deliverables.
Manage design workflows, including:
Betterments and upfront design
Forced relocates
SPAN replacements
UMEA-related design work
Fiber reclamations (reclaiming fiber from disconnected customers and returning it to an open state)
Utilize IRIS and P2 to process designs, run reports, and track project progress.
Collaborate with construction leads and internal teams to gather required information and support accurate GIS mapping.
Add and verify labor rate codes within project documentation.
Assist with internal efforts to bring more design functions in-house as teams shift from project management back into engineering design.
Coax and Fiber design experience (strongly required)
IRIS experience (required)
Experience reviewing as-builts, QC’ing deliverables, and approving designs
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Familiarity with GIS concepts or tools
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience with Sphere
Background supporting telecommunications engineering or construction teams
Project management experience or exposure to PM workflows
