Job summary

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) seeks a Planning Analyst to support new projects, WRAP orders, and various system update efforts within the Division of Information Systems Administration.

You will work with business and technical teams to define and document business requirements, establish standards, and translate needs into actionable specifications with colleagues and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

As part of the Office of Product Delivery & Program Management, you’ll play a key role in supporting new projects, Work Request and Prioritizing (WRAPs) orders (both Legislative and Non‑Legislative), and various system update efforts.

In this role you’ll help maintain consistency and continuity of business requirements across the enterprise. As a Planning Analyst, you’ll work closely with functional teams, acting as a bridge between business and technical groups. You’ll assist in establishing and maintaining standards for documenting business requirements, and collaborate with team leads, senior analysts, and subject matter experts to define and refine business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • 1 year of experience translating technical goals and requirements into actionable steps for Stakeholders.
  • 1 year of experience working on a software development project.
  • Experience and/or knowledge, skills or abilities using Microsoft Word and Excel to create business documents.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple individuals, cross-functional groups, or teams.
Job Related Requirements
  • The position you are applying is subject to aLevel 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
General Information

The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.

  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
