Job summary

Matrix Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to support project controls across multiple industrial projects. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Project Controls and involves assisting PMs with planning, scheduling, earned value, and project maintenance.

The P/S will develop WBS, budgets, schedules, and earned value tracking, and may travel to client sites as needed. This salaried position offers overtime eligibility and a path for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering preferred.
  • Experience in engineering, construction or similar industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project and Primavera scheduling software.
  • Strong MS Office skills: Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), task codes, budgeting (e.g. Deltek Vision budget entry).
  • Develop and maintain proposal and project schedules as defined by PMs.
  • Develop and maintain earned value tracking spreadsheets as defined by PMs.
  • Develop and maintain Project Plans and customer/project reports as requested by PMs.
  • Assist Senior Manager with training in job cost, scheduling, earned value and process improvement.
  • Assist with departmental needs related to planning, scheduling, earned value.

Overview

Join our team as a Planner/Scheduler!

This role will be based out of one of our 8 office locations (Maumee, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Westminster, CO; Indianapolis, IN; Peachtree City, GA; Overland Park, KS;, Edina, MN; and Raleigh, NC). The position is salaried and includes eligibility for overtime pay.

The Planner/Scheduler (P/S) reports to the Senior Manager of Project Controls. The P/S will assist Project Managers (PM) as requested with the planning, scheduling, earned value and maintenance of projects. In addition, the P/S will assist the Senior Manager in the performance of departmental duties related to planning, scheduling, earned value, and process improvement. Specific duties are detailed below.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Project Managers with the development and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), task code assignment and budgeting (e.g. Deltek Vision budget entry).
  • Develop and maintain proposal and project schedules, as defined by PMs.
  • Develop and maintain earned value tracking spreadsheets, as defined by PMs.
  • Develop and maintain Project Plans, project reports, customer reports, etc., as requested by PMs.
  • As assigned by the Senior Manager, assist with the training and development of others with regard to job cost, planning, scheduling, earned value, and other project related activities.
  • As assigned by the Senior Manager, assist with departmental needs consistent with skills required above.
  • Local travel or travel to alternate work sites may be required to support Matrix clients and projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or engineering related field preferred.
  • Experience in an engineering, construction or similar industry.
  • Thorough working knowledge of current Microsoft Windows environment, including Project, Word, and Excel.
  • One year experience with Microsoft Project scheduling software and/or Primavera software.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs.
  • This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to a wide range of known food allergens.

We offer market-competitive compensation for a Planner/Scheduler with a base range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually, and a total compensation package that includes profit sharing, ESOP participation, 401(k) matching, and overtime pay. Salaries are based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
