Job summary

Maine Association of Planners seeks a Planner to ensure development aligns with the Town’s Code of Ordinances and Comprehensive Plan. You will provide staff support to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals and review land use development proposals for compliance with town codes.

You will interpret code provisions and assist with amendments to the Town Code while contributing to climate resiliency projects and housing opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years relevant experience in land use, development regulation, and zoning
• Ability to interpret and apply town codes to review proposals

Responsibilities

• Review zoning and land development permit applications for compliance with town codes
• Provide staff support to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals
• Interpret code provisions and assist with amendments to the Town Code
• Assist with climate change, sea level rise, and resiliency projects
• Support updating the Comprehensive Plan and housing opportunities
