Job summary

K&A Power Group in North Carolina seeks a Substation Planner III to join our team. You will develop construction work packages, estimate labor hours, coordinate resources, and support planning activities across multiple teams.

The role requires at least 5 years in substation construction, knowledge of switching/tagging, and strong organizational and communication skills. On-site work across multiple NC locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Substation Construction experience.
• Knowledge of transmission and substation construction practices.
• Experience with construction planning, estimating, and resource coordination.
• Knowledge of ITOA or switching/tagging qualifications required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction and maintenance work packages.
• Estimate labor hours, resources, and project durations.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, tools, and contractor support.
• Participate in project planning, scoping, and pre-construction meetings.
• Conduct site visits and job walk-downs to support project planning.
• Coordinate with Construction, Project Management, Operations, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Support switching, clearance requests, outage coordination, and emergency planning activities.
• Maintain accurate project and compliance documentation, including NERC-related records.

Pay Range $40-$46.40/hour
