Job summary

The Town of Collierville is seeking a Planner II to join our Planning team. The role involves reviewing zoning change requests, preparing detailed reports, and guiding applicants through the development review process.

You will conduct field studies and gather housing and population data to support planning studies; participate in long-range planning and historic conservation efforts, and assist planning boards with meetings and regulatory updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or closely related field.
• Master’s degree in Urban Planning or closely related field preferred.
• Two years municipal planning office experience, or one year with a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare reports on zoning changes, variances, and proposed ordinances.
• Conduct field studies and site surveys to gather data for planning projects.
• Collect and analyze housing, population, and construction data to support planning studies.
• Prepare background materials for Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Historic District Commission and Design Review Commission.
• Guide applicants through the development review process and report progress to Town planners.
