Job summary

Shiseido Americas seeks a Planner for Amazon to own end-to-end demand forecasting, inventory planning, and replenishment across SAC brands. You’ll ensure the right inventory at the right time to support sales and minimize out-of-stocks, working with cross-functional teams to translate demand signals into actionable plans.

You will partner with brand teams, supply planning, S&OP, operations, and agencies to optimize inventory, manage Prime Day and seasonal events, and continuously improve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years in retail planning, demand planning, inventory planning, replenishment, or related function.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into insights and actions.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate risks and opportunities clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end demand planning for Amazon, using historical trends, seasonality, promotions, and marketplace dynamics.
• Evaluate forecast accuracy and refine inputs to improve precision and responsiveness.
• Develop and execute demand, inventory, and replenishment strategies for Amazon moments (Prime Day, BFCM, launches).
• Monitor key planning metrics (in-stock rate, weeks of supply, sell-through) and identify risks.
• Mitigate risks related to demand volatility, timelines, capacity, and inventory availability.
• Partner with Amazon account team, brand teams, supply planning, S&OP, ops, and agencies to align inventory and promos.
• Translate forecasts into supply plans with S&OP to ensure alignment.
• Own resolution of fulfillment issues with Supply Chain and Operations.
• Own planning dashboards and communicate forecast risks and opportunities.

Job Summary

The Planner, Amazon will report to the Director, Amazon and play a critical role in driving profitable growth across Shiseido Americas’ Amazon business. This role will own end-to-end demand forecasting, inventory planning, and replenishment planning across SAC brands, ensuring the right inventory is available at the right time to support sales, and minimize out-of-stocks. The Planner will partner closely with cross-functional teams to translate demand signals, promotional activity, and Amazon-specific business drivers into actionable plans that improve forecast accuracy, in-stock performance, and event readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end demand planning for Amazon, leveraging historical trends, seasonality, promotional calendars, media activity, deal timing, marketplace dynamics, and demand signals to build accurate, actionable forecasts.
• Continuously evaluate forecast accuracy, bias, and model performance; refine assumptions and planning inputs to improve forecast precision, responsiveness, and alignment to business trends.
• Develop and execute demand, inventory, and replenishment strategies for key Amazon moments, including Prime Day, BFCM, seasonal peaks, and brand-specific launches, ensuring early readiness through aligned forecasts, inventory positioning, and capacity planning.
• Monitor and analyze core planning and supply metrics, including in-stock rate, weeks of supply, fulfillment performance, aged inventory, slow movers, sell-through, and forecast variance; identify trends, risks, and overall risk mitigation.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to demand volatility, shipping timelines, capacity constraints, inventory availability, and Amazon operational requirements.
• Partner cross-functionally with the Amazon account team, brand teams, supply planning, S&OP, operations, and agency partners to align inventory allocation, promotional readiness, and business priorities.
• Partner with S&OP to translate demand forecasts into supply plans and ensure alignment between commercial forecasts and inventory planning.
• Own the resolution of fulfillment issues in partnership with Supply Chain and Operations.
• Own the planning dashboards and regular communication of forecast risks, inventory concerns, and business opportunities.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years of experience in retail planning, demand planning, inventory planning, replenishment, or related commercial planning function.
• Strong analytical skill set with advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency; experience translating data into clear insights, recommendations, and business actions.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze business performance, diagnose drivers of change, and communicate risks and opportunities with clarity.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong ownership, urgency, and follow-through in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Comfortable working independently through ambiguity while proactively escalating issues, aligning stakeholders, and driving decisions.
• Proven ability to manage projects, influence cross-functional partners, and communicate effectively across accounts, brand, planning, operations, and leadership teams.
• Experience with Amazon, marketplace retail, beauty, CPG, or ecommerce planning preferred.

The base pay for this position may vary based on geographic location. Actual base pay offered will be based on several factors including job-specific knowledge, education, skills, and depth of experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as components of a total compensation package, including participation in our bonus program which features the ability to overachieve, in addition to a full range of competitive benefits.
