Job summary

City of West Richland seeks a Planner for a long-term temporary position to perform technical work in planning, land use, zoning, and environmental policy administration. This role supports the City's Comprehensive Plan, development regulations, and design guidelines, and drafts zoning regulations and staff reports for the Planning Commission and City Council.

The position is part-time (29 hours per week), open until filled; first review of applications will be Mon, Oct 5th.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, public administration or related field (required).
• Two years’ progressively responsible experience in land use planning or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform short- and long-range land use planning.
• Review land use permitting and zoning.
• Address environmental policy administration and regulation tasks.
• Support maintenance and implementation of the Comprehensive Plan and development regulations.
• Draft zoning regulations and staff reports for Planning Commission and City Council.
• Engage the public in land use processes.

$6,500 - $8,500 month/ DOQ
