Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join the Project Controls Team at a St. Charles, LA area jobsite. The role requires planning for maintenance, turnarounds, and small capital projects, with experience in piping/structural work and craft labor estimation.

The candidate will develop work plans, create job plan packages, and mentor junior teammates, coordinating with field supervision and project controls. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems is essential.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of field planning experience in industrial maintenance, capital projects and/or outages and turnarounds.
  • Four (4) years of jobsite mechanical craft experience or BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum
  • NCCER certification, craft journeyman, or foreman in industrial construction, maintenance or turnarounds is an additional benefit
  • Must have a strong background in piping and/or structural work scope planning
  • Ability to estimate material and labor quantities from industrial construction drawings for multiple craft disciplines
  • Must be proficient in computer-based MS programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Preferred experience in planning software applications. (Turner Applications WinTake®, QuickPlan® and Win PCS® is an additional benefit)
  • Ability to climb and build planning packages from elevated structures
  • Ability to lead Interactive Planning Sessions thus bridging Field Supervision andProject Controls buy in to the Pre Execution development of Schedule and Costdeliverables
  • This is a senior level position with an expectation to mentor / coach juniorteammates as needed. Your mentorship is to be open to teammates at all levelsof the organization as needed

Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Maintenance Planner to join our Project Controls Team and be placed at a jobsite in the St. Charles, LA area. As a Maintenance Planner you will need relevant experience with equipment, piping, structural steel and light civil. Your responsibilities may include walking down job scope requests, estimating labor hours for multiple disciplines, developing work plans, and creating job plan packages. The candidate may be asked to plan Maintenance, Turnarounds, Small Capital Projects, or a combination of the three.

Essential Qualifications:

Functional Requirements:

Review specifications, drawings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate; prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work, material, outside services and sub-contractors; review and incorporate historical data into a number of resources and man-hours estimates; estimate extras, change orders, and discovery work items; maintain files of working documents and backup estimate figures; u use client Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to identify upcoming installations, maintenance, and repairs; e stimate scope of work in terms of direct craft labor hours and duration; p reform material take-offs for repair or replace-in-kind work; d determine resource and skill requirements for scope of work; d document expectations for resource utilization and timing in client ERP system; d determine options for scope of work and present scenarios of compatible work packages or combinations of similar scope to the client; d document change orders request for deviations on drawings, changes in the field conditions, or engineering busts; p erform job-walks and collaboratively with respective discipline Subject Matter Experts to develop job steps (activities), craft breakdown and man-hours required; m monitor and document progress of the scope work within the client's ERP system and/or Turner applications; p repair subcontractor work packages for the bid process and work execution

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
