What You'll Do
Safely set up and operate planer equipment according to production requirements and product specifications.
Monitor lumber quality and finished product appearance throughout the production process.
Adjust machine settings to support efficient production and quality outcomes.
Repair and replace planer knives and components as required.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
Communicate effectively with graders, quality control personnel, and production team members to support operational performance.
Maintain production levels in accordance with mill objectives and standards.
Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and operating practices. This position is designated as safety-sensitive.
What You Bring
High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial machinery or manufacturing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, safety instructions, and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Basic mathematical skills, including working with measurements, ratios, percentages, and production data.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Safety & Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to:
Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Frequently bend, reach, climb, crouch, kneel, and perform repetitive physical activities.
Frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Work in an industrial environment with moving equipment, elevated work areas, airborne particles, and high noise levels.
