JOB OVERVIEW:

The Placement Specialist is responsible for placing new business and managing renewals for the Northeast Construction & Surety Practice. This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders such as producers, account managers and other team members, as well as external contacts including underwriters and insureds.

Key Responsibilities:
• New Business Placement: Prepare submissions, work with carriers and wholesalers, secure new business quotes and prepare proposals for Producers to present to prospects.
• Renewal Management: Oversee the renewal process of assigned remarketing efforts, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with producers, account managers, and other team members to achieve business goals.
• External Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters and brokers.
• Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders.
• Negotiation: Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Relationship Building: Develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients and partners.
• Insurance Expertise: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial insurance coverages, with a priority given to candidates with experience in the NY construction space.

Qualifications:
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance, with a focus on renewals and new business.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, particularly within the NY construction sector.
• Skills: Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Education: College degree preferred.

COMPENSATION:

The national average salary for this role is $90 000.00 - $110 000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
