Base pay range

$53.00/hr - $55.00/hr

We have a 6-month contract-to-hire position open for a PKI / CLM Network Automation Engineer. The position is 100% remote.

The working hours are Central Time, with a preference for candidates in the Central, then Eastern, then Pacific time zones.

Position Purpose:

Builds and maintains data communication networks, optimizing processes, procedures, and standards for effective data network operation, specifically LAN/WAN, mobility, and third-party network management. Monitors network performance, coordinates planned maintenance, adjusts hardware components, and responds to network connectivity issues.

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).

Requires 4–6 years of related experience or equivalent knowledge and skills reflective of this level.

Technical Skills:
  • Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN)
  • Experience with Cisco Firewalls
  • Experience with enterprise-wide network projects, fault-tolerant LAN/WAN/SANs, and disaster recovery
  • Experience with MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, and SONET network deployments
  • Implementation and design of QoS and traffic priorities
Soft Skills:
  • Intermediate knowledge, eager to acquire more in the area of specialty
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and project management skills

Story Behind the Need

The team focuses on network automation with an emphasis on PKI/CLM. They leverage an AGILE workflow, utilizing Jira. The major project involves migrating off a legacy certificate authority, supporting current CA operations, and implementing certificate automation.

No additional hiring needs are anticipated beyond this role at this time.

Typical Day in the Role
  • Responsibilities include PKI/CLM certificate issuance/revocation, request fulfillment, change management, and DevOps tasks.
  • Serve as escalation point for SSL certificate requests, assisting with certificate migration projects.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, bi-weekly team meetings, and sprint retrospectives.
Candidate Requirements

Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 4+ years of relevant experience. Hands-on PKI/CLM experience is required.

Preferred Skills: Strong communication, self-starter attitude, ability to work independently and collaboratively. Hard skills: PKI, InfoBlox.
