Job summary

St. Ambrose Catholic School in Houston seeks a PK3 Catholic School Classroom Teacher to join a full-time contract role. The teacher will implement Archdiocesan curriculum, document progress, and support students and families under the School Principal and Dean of Academics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Texas State Teaching Certification.
• Background check clearance required.
• Safe Haven child abuse awareness training.
• Committed to Catholic school philosophy and values.
• Current Catechist Certificate or actively pursuing one.
• Ability to teach face-to-face and via remote instruction.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers curriculum aligned with school goals.
• Maintains a safe learning environment for individuals and groups.
• Plans lessons and materials to maximize instructional time.
• Assesses student learning and adapts methods for needs, incl. special education.
• Instructs digital citizenship and complies with laws and school procedures.
• Pursues professional growth through seminars and research.
• Maintains accurate records of grades and attendance.
• Encourages parental involvement and communicates progress.
• Upholds student conduct per handbooks and school standards.
• Collaborates with staff on curriculum evaluation and committees.
• Selects books and supplies, manages inventory.
• Administers standardized tests as per programs.
• Performs additional duties as campus Principal assigns.
