Job summary

Covenant Presbyterian Preschool and CDO is seeking a PreK 3 Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 1:15 PM, August through May, with opportunities to work our Summer Fun program in June.

The assistant will care for children’s emotional, social, physical, and spiritual needs, supervise from arrival to pick-up, and help plan age-appropriate lessons while communicating respectfully with parents.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to lift, bend, and sit on the floor.
• Experience working with young children.
• Background check must be cleared.
• Christian foundation preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children from arrival through pick-up.
• Assist with age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Communicate respectfully with parents and handle concerns with care.
• Maintain classroom routines and safety policies.

August thru May school year with opportunities to work our Summer Fun program in June. Caring for children’s emotional, social, physical, and spiritual needs. Supervising children from arrival through pick-up. Using developmentally appropriate teaching practices. Working collaboratively with fellow teachers and assisting with age-appropriate lesson plans. Communicating respectfully with parents and handling concerns with care. Assisting children and maintaining classroom routines. Following safety, cleaning, and playground policies. Previous education background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older
• Must be able to lift, bend, & sit on floor.
• Must maintain a positive attitude while working with children and staff.
• Experience working with young children.
• CPR/First Aid (preferred but not a prerequisite)
• Cleared background check
