Daily Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside a Full-time Assistant teacher (with a floater teacher)
  • Caring for the physical and emotional well-being of children in our program.
  • Maintaining a safe and aesthetically pleasing classroom that allows children to explore, play and create.
  • Communicate effectively with the children’s families, other teachers, and administration.

Partnering with age level team leaders

Teaching Duties
  • Active engagement with children through developmentally appropriate practices
  • Dedication to learning and implementing the Reggio Emilia approach
  • Support improvements and adjustments in the classrooms and work towards their own professional development.
  • Creating weekly contextual frameworks (lesson plans) guided by the children’s interestsand aligned with Jewish values
  • Create weekly individual development plans for each child in your care
  • Creating documentation to display evidence of learning.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is preferred for lead teachers, CDA is preferred for assistant teachers.
  • Required 45 hr. Department of Children and Families (to be completed within 90 days of employment
  • Experience in a Jewish program preferred.
