Job summary

Wegmans is seeking entry-level leaders for the Pizza department in a dynamic retail environment where growth opportunities are available daily. You will join a team that values collaboration, education, and delivering the freshest pizza and other restaurant-quality products to customers.

As a department leader, you’ll help uphold merchandising standards, educate customers and teammates about offerings, and contribute to a fast-paced, service-oriented store culture.

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 40 pounds frequently. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction).The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures and hot equipment (exceeds 135 degrees). Basic tools and equipment used include pizza oven, warming oven, fryer, dough mixer, common cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment.; Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; Experience ordering products and controlling inventory; Food preparation experience; Experience coordinating daily work of others; Managerial/supervisory experience living our values and achieving results in our 5 measures
