Bell & Evans is seeking a Café Cook to prepare and serve foods across sandwich, hot line, salad, and pizza stations. The role is cross-trained to support daily operations and ensure timely service for customers.

You will follow recipes, maintain quality and presentation, keep work areas clean and sanitary, perform opening and closing duties, and move between stations as needed; ServSafe certification is preferred.

• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality.
• Ensure food is prepared in sufficient quantities to meet customer and team member demand.
• Replenish ingredients and prepared foods throughout service as needed.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and holding times.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and Pennsylvania food code requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations, equipment, and utensils.
• Properly store, label, date, and rotate food products using FIFO.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Food Service Team Member is responsible for preparing and serving food across multiple kitchen stations, including the sandwich station, hot line, salad station, and pizza station. This role is cross-trained to support various areas of food service based on daily operational needs. Responsibilities include food preparation, maintaining product quality and presentation, keeping work areas clean and organized, and ensuring food is available to meet the needs of team members and customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and serve food at the sandwich, hot line, salad, and pizza stations based on daily operational needs.
• Assist with food preparation, including washing, cutting, portioning, and assembling ingredients.
• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality.
• Ensure food is prepared in sufficient quantities to meet customer and team member demand.
• Replenish ingredients and prepared foods throughout service as needed.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and holding times.
• Follow all HACCP guidelines, Pennsylvania food code requirements, and Company food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations, equipment, and utensils.
• Properly store, label, date, and rotate food products using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.
• Assist with opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned.
• Work across kitchen stations and assist other team members to maintain efficient food service operations.
• Communicate supply shortages, equipment issues, and food safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining food quality and service standards.
• Willingness to be cross-trained and move between stations based on business needs.
• ServSafe certification preferred or as required for the position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and safe food handling practices preferred.
• Ability to learn and perform duties across multiple food service stations.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift. Team members must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, stooping, carrying supplies, stocking products, and cleaning work areas. The ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy food service environment is essential.
