HOME RUN INN INC is hiring a Pizza Maker / Food Prep in Bolingbrook. You will prepare ingredients, stretch dough, cook pizzas, and keep the kitchen clean and efficient.

You'll follow recipes, work with a fast-paced team, and support service during peak hours. Must be 16+, Food Handler cert within 30 days, and willing to work nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old to operate kitchen equipment.
• Food Handler certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Safety shoes required within 30 days of hire.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stock ingredients and dough for pizzas and food prep.
• Stretch and bake pizzas to standard recipes and portioning.
• Read tickets and assemble orders with accuracy and speed.

Pay: $17.05/hr

What You'll Do

As our Pizza Maker / Food Prep, you'll play an important role in creating the Home Run Inn experience our guests know and love.

You'll prepare ingredients, build and cook pizzas to our standards, and help prepare other menu items so our kitchen is ready to deliver great food quickly and consistently.

You'll work with our recipes and standard operating procedures while helping keep the kitchen clean, organized, safe, and ready for service.

No two shifts look exactly the same, and that's part of the fun.

You'll Spend Your Time

Making great pizza

• Prepare and stock ingredients and dry goods needed for pizza and food preparation
• Read order tickets and select the appropriate ingredients
• Stretch and prepare pizza crusts using proper dough-handling techniques
• Measure and apply ingredients according to HRI recipes and portioning standards
• Cook pizzas in the oven while monitoring the cooking process
• Remove pizzas from the oven and slice them for service
• Follow HRI SOPs for pizza preparation, including specified weights, measurements, portioning, dough proofing times, and safe food handling practices
• Work from both verbal and written orders

Preparing food for service

• Prepare ingredients and menu items according to standard recipes
• Assist other cooks with food preparation as needed
• Prepare food quickly and efficiently to meet HRI prep-time goals
• Read order tickets to determine the appropriate amount and type of food and supplies needed
• Fill individual serving cartons with appropriate portions of food and condiments
• Operate fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely
• Monitor food quality and spoilage
• Ensure food preparation areas remain clean and organized

Keeping the kitchen stocked and organized

• Refill and rotate food stock as necessary
• Rotate perishable food items using the FIFO method
• Assist with inventory counts and ordering
• Clean pizza ovens, meat tables, and food preparation equipment regularly
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements

Supporting the team

• Communicate effectively with teammates and management
• Assist other cooks and kitchen teammates during busy periods
• Help maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen
• Jump in where needed to support the restaurant team
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

• Must be at least 16 years old to operate kitchen equipment
• Ability to constantly lift, reach, bend, and stoop
• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to approximately 5 hours
• Ability to safely lift and stack bags and cases weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to safely operate kitchen and cooking equipment
• Working knowledge of the predominant language of our guests
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Typical evening availability may include 4 PM–close
• Food Handler certification required within 30 days of hire
• Safety shoes required within 30 days of hire
• Previous restaurant, food preparation, or kitchen experience is a plus
