Job summary

LEV Restaurant Group in Las Vegas is seeking a Cook – Pizza Maker to prepare high-quality pizzas and other menu items according to orders. You will bake pizzas, prepare dough, and manage ingredients while maintaining cleanliness.

We require high school diploma or GED, 6 months to 2 years cooking experience, health card, and strong teamwork and communication. The role demands standing long hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pizzas and other menu items according to customer orders.
  • Bake pizzas in oven and manage dough preparation.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary work station and proper food handling.
  • Operate kitchen equipment (pizza oven, dough mixers, knives, grills, stovetops).
  • Follow production schedules and plate presentation standards.

Job Summary:The Cook – Pizza Maker is responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas and other menu items according to customers’ orders. The pizza maker’s responsibilities include baking pizzas in an oven, preparing pizza dough, cutting, grating, or slicing various ingredients, removing pizza debris from the pizza ovens, and make other menu items.Essential Job Functions; include but not limited to:Maintenance of all areas in accordance with Health Department and FSS auditing.Completion of all daily menus and food products on all parts of the line/kitchen.Report any poor product or below quality items to sous chef or above immediately upon noticingOperate kitchen equipment including but not limited to: dough mixers, pizza oven, knives, grills, stovetops, etc.Food preparation of meats/poultry/game/fish, vegetables, and fruits, to include:Washing, peeling, cutting and seeding vegetables and fruitsWeighing and measuring ingredientsMethods of combination: stirring, mixing, whipping, breading, etc.Cooking: steaming, sautéing, frying, baking, roasting, braising, boiling, poaching, broilingMaintain food storage and handling proceduresMaintain food quality and nutritional standardsPerform technical culinary food production, portion control, and service standardsFollow production scheduleMaintain cooking temperature, product cooling and labelingLifting and moving equipment to and from work stations, stove, and refrigeratorMaintains a clean and sanitary work station, equipment and distribute supplies utensils, and portable equipmentStocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at work station to ensure a smooth service periodFollows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishesProperly store, rotate, and manage all food products following local, state, federal, and company guidelines and proceduresWill be required to possess basic knife skills in compliance with OSHA safety regulations and operate kitchen equipmentResponsible for putting away product in accordance with Health DepartmentAble to understand and comply with all safety regulations and rulesMinimum Qualifications:Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distanceStrong team-minded approach to fellow-workersPrimary food quality work ethicAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Exceptional communication skills both verbally and writtenExcellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresExcellent knowledge of food preparation and fine dining cookingMust be able to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environmentAbility to be flexible and to perform multiple tasks effectivelyFriendly, open disposition and professional presentationOpen availability; must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidaysAbility to stand for long periods of timePhysical Requirements:Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quicklyAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time.
