Job Title: Trainee Step I

Job Summary:
Pitcher Services, LLC is a union company (Operating Engineers Local 3) seeking Assistant to Engineer Trainees to assist our geotechnical drillers on multiple projects in the field. This is a full-time, entry level position that will start with a training program. The ideal candidate will be flexible, reliable, hard-working and possess a "can do" attitude. This position does require heavy lifting, long days, and some night/weekend work. In addition, a positive attitude, along with a willingness to help other employees, is required. The ability to work in a team environment without supervision is necessary for success.

*Hourly pay rate is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and Classification

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct pre-trip inspection.
  2. Set up a control zone.
  3. Perform physical labor, shoveling, drilling debris, and transporting materials using ergonomically correct lifting techniques.
  4. Maintain equipment.
  5. Ability to fill in for driller when qualified.
  6. Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  7. Maintain all certifications required by the Industry or OSHA.
  8. Other Duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with a willingness to obtain Class A or Class B license.
  2. Must be willing to travel extensively.
  3. HAZWOPER, Forklift, CPR First-Aid Certifications Preferred.
  4. Ability to pass a pre-hire and yearly physical, including pre-hire and random drug tests as requested.
  5. Mechanical ability to do minor repairs.

Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.

  10. Ability to work up to 55 hours per week doing physical labor (up to 12 hours per day).
  11. Ability to withstand long periods of standing (fieldwork involves time on feet for the workday except for breaks and lunch period).
