Job summary

Permian Basin Materials is seeking staff to load, unload, and move sand and gravel materials within the plant yard. You will maneuver trucks and dump products, maintain safety standards, and learn material differentiation to keep products properly sorted.

The role requires attention to equipment condition, radio communication with the manager, and performing routine maintenance and cleaning as scheduled. A strong work ethic and ability to work with the team are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with heavy equipment and safety procedures is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver truck and dump product at designated site in the yard.
• Identify problems with the dump site related to safety, maneuverability, etc., and work with the manager to resolve them.
• Learn site aggregate materials to differentiate products and keep them in correct locations.
• Use the radio properly and keep the Manager informed of all relevant information and problems.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.
• Thoroughly clean interior and exterior of the equipment as scheduled or instructed.
• Perform other functions and duties as required or directed.
• Help service plants including greasing bearings on the plant.
• Change screens on crushers.
• Shovel dry and/or wet material, sometimes a full shift.
• Help mechanics when equipment is down including changing oil, hoses, etc.
• Help plant mechanics change conveyor belts, bearings, rollers, etc.
• Empty trash cans into dumpsters.
