Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking a Pit Loader Operator in Benson, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a Pit Loader, ensuring the quality of product stockpiles, and promoting site safety among truck drivers.

The role involves conducting inspections, performing preventative maintenance, and complying with safety regulations. A High School Diploma and experience with mobile equipment are required. The position offers various benefits, including medical, 401(k) with matching, and more.

Qualifications

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Have experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment.
• Have six (6) months of experience in the operation and maintenance of a front-end loader (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a Pit Loader and maintain product stockpiles.
• Complete daily pre and post inspection of working areas.
• Perform pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and report repairs.
• Ensure safe operations around conveyors and crushers.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site.
• Operate other equipment such as excavators and haul trucks.
• Aid in the training of co-workers as needed.

Job description

Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Pit Loader and maintaining the quality of product stockpiles. The pit loader will maintain safe working speeds and promote site safety by asserting leadership of truck drivers onsite.

Hours: 6AM - 5PM, weekend as necessary

A typical day for a Pit Loader Operator may include:

• Operating a pit loader within the company guidelines and safety standards
• Completing daily pre and post inspection of working areas and ensuring they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways
• Performing pre‑shift safety inspection on equipment and reporting needed repairs to the supervisor
• Ensuring safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers
• Performing daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks and all moving parts for proper function
• Maintaining safe traffic flow throughout the site
• Operating other equipment such as excavators and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
• Aiding in the training of co‑workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
