Job summary

John F. Martin & Sons, LLC, a third-generation family-owned meat and cheese producer and distributor, seeks a PIT mechanic for material handling equipment at the Womelsdorf, PA facility.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of PIT gear, with opportunities to work on process equipment; must read OEM manuals, work independently or with a team, and maintain a safe, clean workspace.

Qualifications

• Experience with PIT equipment maintenance such as forklifts, scissor lifts and pallet trucks preferred.
• Able to read OEM manuals and follow written or verbal instructions.
• Must be able to stand/walk all day and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, corrective work, and repairs on PIT equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet trucks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; adhere to safety policies.
• Coordinate with others and follow OEM manuals for repairs and upgrades.
• Assist with training and growth opportunities within the company.

At our Womelsdorf location, we are looking for:

PIT MECHANIC FOR MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT – 1st Shift

This position works primarily with the material handling / PIT equipment, previous experience with general maintenance or equivalent experience is preferred. This position will also have an opportunity to be trained and work with process equipment

Job Details

• The workday will consist of preventive maintenance, corrective work, and troubleshooting/repair of PIT equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet trucks.
• Good organizational and time management skills. A dependable, self-motivated individual who can accomplish tasks promptly with a positive attitude, willing to learn & grow with the company.
• Must be able to work independently or with a Team to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the PIT fleet.
• You must be able to work from OEM Manuals and/or verbal instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; safety is a priority.
• You must have effective verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in Food Manufacturing is a plus.
• You must be able to stand and walk throughout the day with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
