Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is seeking a Piping / Welding Foreman to lead field teams in the Asheville, NC area. This permanent, full-time role oversees daily activities, ensures safety, quality, and schedule adherence, and coordinates with project stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial piping and welding, foreman experience preferred, and the ability to read blueprints and codes. Local applicants only; travel is not required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial piping and/or welding installation.
• Foreman experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Safety is our #1 priority. Ensure everyone is working in a safe manner and always wearing appropriate PPE.
• Coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Perform layout, installation oversight, and quality control of commercial piping systems.
• Plan manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required for assigned work.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping records, and project documentation.
• Train, mentor, and develop journeymen and apprentices.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, and other trades to resolve field issues.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with contract requirements, company standards, and applicable codes.
• Support project startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is looking for a Piping / Welding Foreman to join the team in the Asheville, NC area. This is a permanent, full-time position. This position provides daily supervision, coordinates field activities, maintains quality standards, and promotes a culture of safety and teamwork. We are looking for someone local to Asheville. We are not looking for travelling tradespeople.

Experience or Certification needed:

• 5 or more years of commercial piping and/or welding installation.
• Prior experience Foreman experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Working knowledge of applicable mechanical and building codes.
• Valid driver's license required.
