Piping Superintendent | Industrial Projects (Pharma & Data Centers) | USA
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a mechanical contracting client for an experienced Piping Superintendent to support the delivery of major industrial construction projects across the United States.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering complex pharmaceutical manufacturing and data center projects, working alongside high-performing project teams on large-scale builds.
Base Location: High Point, NC
Project Locations ($40-120M)
- Moncks Corner, South Carolina
- Spartanburg, South Carolina
- Richmond, Virginia
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all piping installation activities on site, ensuring work is completed safely, to the highest quality standards, and in line with project schedules. You will work closely with project management, subcontractors, engineering teams, and client representatives to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all piping installation activities on assigned projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors and direct labor to ensure program milestones are achieved.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Plan daily and weekly work activities while identifying and resolving site issues.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, electrical, and commissioning teams.
- Monitor productivity, labor allocation, and installation progress.
- Conduct inspections, quality checks, and punch list management.
- Support project reporting, scheduling, and progress meetings.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all site operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Piping Superintendent on large industrial construction projects.
- Experience delivering pharmaceutical, life sciences, data center, or similar process facility projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, installation methods, testing, and commissioning.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and construction documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and planning skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and quality requirements.
- Willingness to travel between project locations as required.
