Piping SP3D Layout Engineer (Contractual)

Job Summary:

Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Performs engineering tasks, within a discipline, having some degree of complexity. Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Participates in the operation of a small size design group in a discipline. Requires a good knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, SP3D, 2-D and 3-D CAD, reading of drawings and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
  • Directly performs the work includes the preparation of layouts, study drawings, nozzle orientations detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings.
  • Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.
  • Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort. Coordinates to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents. Reviews or defines engineering scope changes, as required, for project management.
  • Perform work in different sectors like Power, Oil and Gas Projects.
  • Understands the inter disciplinary coordination on the project. Follows ES&H guidelines.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 Years of experience as Piping Layout Engineer. Experience of working on OG&C, Semiconductor, Data Center or Power projects will be an additional advantage.
  • Knowledge of BIM, Plant 3D and REVIT 3D applications will be an added advantage.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A recognized degree in a job-related engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university, or a professional license in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline from a recognized licensing board, or specialized courses in relevant general engineering, design or science or an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Broad progressive work experience in design engineering, science or other relevant types of engineering such as field engineering or engineering/construction firms.
  • Broad knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the discipline. Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, plant layout and piping materials for development of piping deliverables.
