Virtual Design and Construction

Location: Remote, Pennsylvania

Reports To: Lead Sr. BIM Project Coordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate complete project and material handling from manufacturing to installation (e.g., bagging & tagging, expediting, fabrication of combination Victaulic and welded spools, field logistics, etc.).
  2. Perform checking functions of drawings and bill of materials (plans & sections, isometrics, spool sheets, BOMs) produced both in-house and by the GDC (Global Design Center) and/or other VDC offices, utilizing VDC procedures and standards.
  3. Provide assistance and comments for projects transferred to the GDC, attend daily coordination meetings with the GDC.
  4. Utilize and enforce the VDC Division procedures and policies.
  5. Assist Sales with presentation of VDC Drawing Quotes as required.
  6. Travel to jobsites to obtain accurate field measurements and interact with customers and Victaulic salespeople as required.
  7. Participate in Lean implementation and the Victaulic Quality Improvement Process.
  8. Prepare piping layout drawings, isometric drawings, spool sheet drawings/cut sheets with complete BOMs, and equipment drawings from customer furnished drawings and vendor data using Revit or other design software.
  9. Conduct project reviews, kick-off meetings, maintain customer contact, and perform other job control functions.
  10. Prepare and coordinate complete Basic Engineering Packages (BEP) for project transfer to the GDC and/or other VDC offices.
  11. Update the Project Lead weekly on project status and assist with project close-out and customer satisfaction reports.
  12. Prepare Advanced Bill of Materials and assist the customer care department regarding material delivery requirements.
  13. Review incoming projects and prepare VDC Drawing Quotes.
  14. Assist VDC Estimating, Specification, and Software Development departments as required.
  15. Advise the Project Leader on the status of project milestones.
  16. Assist in training Draftspersons, Trainees, and Interns.
  17. Qualifications include an Associate Degree in drafting technology or a Bachelor's Degree preferred; 3-5 years of solid engineering/design experience, preferably in piping, HVAC, or industrial sectors.
  18. Knowledge of piping specification engineering, pipe support experience, and proficiency with Excel, Word, AutoCAD; knowledge of piping software or Revit is beneficial.
  19. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (<5% travel required).
  20. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer skills required.
  21. Project management skills are preferred.
