CDI Engineering Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement, and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.

Responsibilities

1. Independently develop CADD drawings from design sketches or catalog information.
2. Track and report project progress.
3. Work directly with Project Management during execution for projects and lead the assigned piping team.
4. Perform and direct piping design and calculations, sizing components and layouts to produce efficient and workable drawings.
5. Prepare piping estimates and scopes of work under the guidance of the Department Manager.
6. Write specifications for tagged material or equipment based on the scope of work.
7. Review works in progress for others to draft or CADD.
8. Maintain safety consciousness in daily activities and incorporate safety into work designs.
9. Prepare complex engineering and construction drawings from scratch or verbal instructions using manual or computer-assisted techniques.
10. Support fundamental engineering tasks such as updating lists, filing, distributing drawings, calculations, proofreading, and compiling Bills of Material.
11. Review and ensure quality of work by other designers and drafters.
12. Mentor less experienced designers and drafters.
13. Communicate design processes within the discipline and coordinate with other disciplines.
14. Interface with clients as needed for advanced design work.
15. Utilize vendor prints, catalogs, and manuals for design work.
16. Supervise and provide work for designers and drafting personnel.
17. Ensure field notes are accurate, complete, and well-organized.
18. Create clear sketches with all necessary details.
19. Be familiar with relevant design codes, standards, and specifications.
20. Develop design concepts with minimal engineering input.
21. Manage time efficiently and keep supervisors informed of progress.
22. Ensure quality assurance in personal work.
23. Support field assignments as required.

Qualifications

• Required: 15 years of field experience, preferably in the refining/petrochemical industry. 8 years as a Piping Designer on medium to large projects using 3D software.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 12 years of technical experience, or 3 years of relevant education plus 9 years of experience with 3D software projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CADworX, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, LFM, Recap.

Education Requirements

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: An associate degree in engineering graphics/drafting or related training from vo-tech or similar program.
