Job summary
Black & Veatch is seeking a Mechanical Piping Designer – Staff Engineering Technician for Advanced Power Generation. The role focuses on developing 3D piping layouts and model-based drawings using Bentley OpenPlant Modeler, supporting complex infrastructure projects within the Power Providers market sector.
Under general supervision, you will work with multidisciplinary teams, applying design practices, standards, and BV policies to deliver high-quality deliverables and detailed piping design
Qualifications
- Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records) may apply.
- Diploma or Certificate required; Associate Degree preferred in Drafting/Engineering Design
Responsibilities
- Develops and modifies technical deliverables for engineering and design teams.
- Applies engineering principles to create moderately complex design concepts.
- Uses CAD/BIM/3D modeling tools to produce and maintain documentation and drawings.
- Provides technical guidance to other professionals to ensure deliverable quality.
- Reviews design inputs for consistency and compliance with codes and BV policies.
