Due to our continued growth, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Piping Designer based in our Freeport, Texas office.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete piping design and layouts using 2D & 3D software, including modifications for new and existing processes.
• Prepare construction documents such as General Arrangements, Piping Isometrics, P&IDs, Piping Plans, Lines Lists, and Tie-In Lists.
• Coordinate conceptual physical design requirements with supervisors and engineers.
• Prepare material takeoffs and field design sketches.
• Review vendor shop drawings and construction drawings.
• Provide piping discipline leadership and technical support for projects.
• Review project deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
• Determine manpower needs and lead a team of designers.
• Perform piping system component selection, specification, and detailed design.
• Prepare project scope documents and installation standards.
• Estimate engineering efforts and support construction during installation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree in Piping or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3D modeling experience, proficient in AutoCAD or Microstation.
• Knowledge of pipe stress analysis, pipe supports, fabrication design, and equipment layouts.
• Minimum 5 years of piping systems design experience, preferably in petrochemical or refinery environments.
• Effective team player with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Proactive problem solver with safety and detail orientation.
• Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• High ethical standards and confidentiality commitment.
