Job summary

Bechtel in Reston, VA is seeking a Piping Designer to prepare 3D models and piping isometrics for above-ground and underground systems. The role emphasizes coordination with disciplines and adherence to ASME B31.1/B31.3, using AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Requires AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 3-4 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, interference reconciliation and design coordination with other physical related disciplines.
• Accept technical and administrative direction from the lead/group supervisor during the preparation of above ground and underground piping designs.
• Interface with pipe support & stress personnel, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of piping designs for the purpose of model/space control.
• Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by others.
• Performs design/engineering tasks within a discipline, having a minor degree of complexity.
