Job summary

Integral Engineering Group, LLC in Knoxville, TN seeks a Piping Designer to develop complex mechanical systems for industrial and government projects. This role focuses on high-quality 3D models, fabrication packages, and plant layouts while ensuring compliance with ASME codes and applicable DOE/DoD standards.

A strong working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential for success in plant layout, piping systems, and equipment modeling in highly regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or related field.
• 3-20 years of relevant industrial experience (DoD/DOE environment preferred).
• Min. 3 years experience using Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical design, plant layout, and piping systems.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D equipment models and fabrication packages using CAD software (Revit and AutoCAD required; Plant 3D preferred).
• Develop plant, facility, equipment, piping, and site layout drawings with elevations and sections.
• Create detailed design drawings for piping, HVAC, plumbing, and supports.
• Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to design and resolve technical issues.
• Interpret and apply Federal, State, Local codes, including DOE Orders.
• Ensure designs conform to ASME codes and standards.
• Collect field data and support site walkdowns and as-built documentation.
• Assist with material takeoffs, estimates, and procurement documentation.
• Prioritize work to meet project schedules; communicate effectively in a hybrid environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
