Job summary

Actalent in Portland, OR is seeking a Piping Designer to design and lay out piping systems in industrial environments using 3D design software. You'll produce fabrication-ready drawings for shops and field crews and develop fabrication packages for installations.

Responsibilities include reviewing existing systems, designing new pipe routes, solving layout challenges in confined spaces, and interpreting P&IDs and related drawings. This is a contract-to-hire onsite role with benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of piping design or detailing experience in industrial, manufacturing, refinery, power generation, or process piping environments.
• Strong understanding of piping systems, equipment, valves, fittings, supports, and fabrication practices.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping drawings, mechanical drawings, arrangement drawings, specifications, and field markups/redlines.

The Piping Designer is responsible for designing and laying out piping systems in industrial or marine environments using 3D design software. They create detailed drawings for fabrication shops and field crews to build, modify, and install piping systems. This role involves reviewing existing systems, designing new pipe routes, creating fabrication packages, and solving layout challenges in complex environments where space is limited and conditions may not match the original drawings.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $41.27/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
