Job summary

Kahuna USA, LLC (Kahuna) is seeking an entry-level Designer I to support piping layout development on large projects. You will work under experienced designers to produce basic layouts with AutoCAD and CADWorx, gaining hands-on exposure to P&ID concepts and piping systems.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of piping design exposure, proficiency in AutoCAD, and a willingness to learn Kahuna workflows and industry standards in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of progressive piping design experience or equivalent technical background.
• Basic AutoCAD skills; follow SOPs and company workflow.
• Familiarity with P&IDs and basic piping systems.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Detail oriented, precise, and organized in handling drawings; able to prioritize.
• Self-starter with initiative; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, CADWorx P&ID, and Bluebeam Revu.

Responsibilities

• Create basic piping layouts, plans, sections, and elevations.
• Perform 2D modeling using Kahuna pre-developed tools; basic 3D modeling.
• Perform elementary pipe routing tasks with guidance from senior designers.
• Understand and follow Kahuna’s workflow from start to end of a project.
• Prepare plans, sections, details, and Bills of Materials under supervision.
• Use AutoCAD and CADWorx P&ID to create drawings per company standards.
• Assist on small projects with guidance from lead designers and engineers.
• Back-check your own work against checked documents before submittal.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and strive to improve efficiency and skills.
• Forecast task durations and communicate workload to supervisor.
