Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Associate Engineering Technician in Overland Park, KS, to develop 3D piping layouts and model‑based drawings while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects.

Under supervision, you will use CAD/3D tools, create deliverables, maintain technical docs, and grow your piping design skills within a flexible, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in drafting or engineering design required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Typical minimum of 2 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
• Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
• Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
• Stay current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, BV policies and procedures.
