Job summary

360X Staffing seeks an experienced Piping Design Engineer III in Amherst, NH, to lead piping design, material procurement packages, and fabrication oversight for multi‑discipline projects. The role bridges design with hands-on fabrication, testing, and on-site startup support.

You will design detailed pipe drawings and weld maps, build comprehensive vendor bid packages, and collaborate across QA/QC, Electrical, Structural, and Process teams to ensure accurate drawings and cohesive packages for

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 6+ years of piping design/engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASME/ANSI/API/NFPA/CSA codes (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8; 49 CFR 192 & 195 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design detailed pipe drawings, weld maps, heat number tracing, and material takeoffs.
• Build vendor bid packages for fabrication materials/services and issue purchase orders.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Electrical, Structural, and Process engineering teams for cohesive package development and drawing accuracy.
• Design hydrostatic test plans, supervise testing, calibrate gauges, and manage required code paperwork.
• Monitor schedules and budgets against client specs, ensure safety/regulatory compliance, and travel to project sites for equipment startup.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Mapping: Develop detailed pipe drawings, weld maps, heat number tracing, and complete project takeoffs for weld counts and materials.
• Procurement & Bidding: Build comprehensive vendor bid packages for fabrication materials/services and prepare purchase orders.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with QA/QC, Electrical, Structural, and Process engineering teams to ensure cohesive package development and drawing accuracy.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Design hydrostatic test plans, supervise testing execution, maintain test gauge calibrations, and manage all required code paperwork.
• Project Execution & Site Support: Monitor schedules and budgets against client specs, ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards, and travel to project sites as needed for equipment startup.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
• Experience: 6+ years of relevant piping design and engineering experience.
• Codes & Standards: Strong working knowledge of ASME/ANSI/API/NFPA/CSA standards (specifically ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and 49 CFR 192 & 195 preferred).
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel to project sites for system commissioning and startup.
