Overview

A large chemical manufacturing client of Insight Global is seeking a Piping Checker to join their engineering team in Plaquemine, LA. This person will be responsible for checking all designs for a large piping replacement project. This person will mark up P&IDs, check isometrics and equipment plans, conduct quality control when piping spools come in, and conduct laser scanning as needed. The established pay rate for the position is $50-60/hr, depending on experience.

Base pay range

$50.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Check all designs for a large piping replacement project.
• Mark up P&IDs, check isometrics and equipment plans.
• Conduct quality control when piping spools arrive.
• Conduct laser scanning as needed.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of pipe design checking experience
• 5+ years of experience with Navisworks
• Experience reading P&IDs, using scan data, and checking isometrics and equipment plans
• Ability to read and understand vendor drawings for equipment and instrumentation
• Experience in the chemical industry

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Bluebeam for marking up P&IDs
• Experience with E3D and Aveva
• Experience laser scanning with Faro
