Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Pipette Technician I to join the PCI Pipette Services Team in Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on learning basic pipette and balance calibrations, completing GXP documentation, and upholding safety and professional standards on-site and in the office.

You will train under experienced technicians, handling timesheets, expense reports, and customer interactions while contributing to a trusted service delivery culture within a leading industrial distributor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; two- or four-year degree preferred but not required.
• Completion of biotechnology certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform basic pipette and balance calibrations and PMs.
• Learn and complete proper GXP documentation for calibrations.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and report hazards to superiors.
• Train and follow SOPs for proper calibration of instruments.
• Provide customer service under mentorship of experienced technicians.
• Submit timesheets and expense reports weekly with correct codes.
• Demonstrate ethics and support PCI Success Philosophy.
• Maintain professional appearance and provide regular project updates.

Pipette Technician I

The Pipette Calibration Technician I reports directly to the Senior Team Leader, Manager, or Director, depending on the organizational structure. These positions are non-exempt. Up to 50% travel may be required.

Expectations:

Pipette Technicians are expected to take a proactive role in supporting the Pipette Services Team and in providing client pipette support. The Pipette Technician is expected to build a high level of trust with internal and client personnel. This trust is developed through consistently upholding PCI Values and demonstrating Honesty, Integrity, Pride, Accountability, Teamwork, and Commitment.

Responsibilities / Assignments:

• Learns and performs basic pipette and balance calibrations and PMs
• Learns and completes proper GXP documentation for calibrations performed.
• Learns safety guidelines and notifies superiors of any concerns or potential hazards. Always considers safety when executing tasks and projects. Ensures that PCI work areas are safe, neatly organized, and professional on-site and in office.
• Trains and follows SOPs for proper calibration of instruments
• Provides customer service as mentored by experienced technicians
• Completes timesheets and expense reports weekly with accurate labor and expense codes
• Is ethical and trusted among clients and partners, supports and furthers the PCI Success Philosophy
• Displays professionalism in appearance and in written and verbal communication. Provides regular updates on projects to Tech SRs and Team Leaders/Managers

Skills Required:

• Extreme attention to detail, able to perform tasks with few errors
• Ability to multi-task with little oversight
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently
• Ability to climb stairs; climb on equipment such as tanks. Moderate to heavy lifting.
• Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite

Experience and education required:

A high school degree or equivalent. A two- or four-year degree is preferred but not required. Completion of a biotechnology certification class is highly desired.
