Job Description

The FSE I/II performs calibrations, qualifications, preventative maintenance, and repairs on pipettes and small laboratory instruments.

Responsibilities

1. Perform calibration, qualification, and preventative maintenance on pipettes.
2. Travel to customer sites for pipette calibration and maintenance.
3. Troubleshoot and repair small laboratory equipment both in the field and in the lab.
4. Manage parts inventory effectively.
5. Provide feedback regarding service issues impacting turnaround times.
6. Complete administrative paperwork accurately and promptly.
7. Follow good documentation practices (GDP).
8. Schedule services efficiently and contact customers timely.
9. Adhere to environmental health and safety guidelines.
10. Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
11. Follow company policies and SOPs; ensure training remains current.
12. Maintain client confidentiality.
13. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Two- or four-year degree in a related science field (e.g., chemistry, biotechnology) plus 0-1 years (FSE I) or 1-3 years (FSE II) experience.
• Physical ability to lift and transport equipment.
• Clear, respectful, and timely communication skills.
• Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Self-motivated and proactive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel within the territory up to 5 days a week, including overnight travel.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm, with additional hours as needed. Candidates near San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.

Compensation: Up to $60,000/year
