Job summary

Saulsbury Industries in Texas invites a field QA/QC Inspector for a 12-mile pipeline project in Permian Basin/Pecos. You will inspect construction activities, verify conformance to specifications, and generate daily/weekly reports documenting conditions observed on site.

Reporting to the Site Quality Manager and Project Manager, you will ensure safety, maintain records, coordinate with client QA staff, and support timely punch lists while meeting project schedules.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification required.
• API 1169 preferred.
• Pipeline coating experience required (AMPP/NACE not mandatory).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• All applicants must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
• 2+ years of Oil/Gas or Pipeline experience preferred.
• 2+ years of verifiable QA/QC or NDE experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect and ensure quality during daily construction activities on a 12-mile pipeline project.
• Have knowledge of applicable construction codes used for the project.
• Maintain organized, timely records and punch lists as needed.
• Record QA data accurately in the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP).
• Monitor daily work to meet project schedules.
• Identify and address deficiencies with field teams and Client QA staff.
• Interface with field supervision to communicate QA/QC requirements.
• Work cross-functionally with craft personnel and team members.
• Maintain professional appearance and perform other duties as assigned.

Location: Permian Basin / Pecos, Texas
Type: Full Time – Project Site
Reporting to Site Quality Manager and Project Manager, applies skills and knowledge to determine degree of conformance of materials, equipment and installation of materials and equipment to specifications. Performs inspection of various project activities, more specifically Pipeline; generates daily and weekly reports of conditions found during inspection activities. Notifies management of significant problems. Completes documentation to attest to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during the daily activities of the overall construction on a 12-mile pipeline project. Included but not limited to, excavations, concrete, rebar, PV installation, underground utilities, welding, piping, valves, and a wide variety of other equipment.
• Have a working knowledge of the code(s) of construction being used for the project.
• Demonstrates good organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Conduct daily activities in a highly organized manner to ensure all QC data are properly and accurately recorded.
• Daily monitoring and recording of all work as required by the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP).
• Prevents deficiencies while working closely with field operating teams, through pre-construction quality control inspections.
• Detect deficiencies and addresses deficiencies in a timely and effective manner.
• Inspect the work and establish punch lists.
• Ensure daily quality task schedules are met to meet the project schedule.
• Work closely with the Client and field quality staff acting as their field representative ensuring construction understands and follows the QA/QC requirements.
• Interface with field supervision to maintain an open line of communication.
• Interacts cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
• Maintain complete and accurate records during inspections so they can be transferred to permanent hard copies and/or electronic files.
• Capable of determining the calibration status of measuring and test equipment
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

• AWS CWI Certification (Required)
• Candidates that have API 1169 (Preferred)
• Pipeline coating experience required (AMPP/NACE not mandatory)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record (Required)
• All applicants must pass a background check (Required)
• A pre-employment drug test as well as quarterly random drug testing (Required)2 or more years of Oil/Gas/or Pipeline experience (Preferred)
• 2 or more years of verifiable QA/QC or NDE experience (Preferred)
• Proficiency in computers to include Microsoft Office (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends
• Typical work hours range from 40 to 60 hours per week, 5-6 days per week
• Communicate effectively, both written and orally
