Job summary

Adelphia Gateway LLC, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, seeks a Pipeline Technician to perform pipeline operations and maintenance, including marking facilities, locating points, pigging, and valve/meter station tasks. The role requires reading manuals and drawings, regulatory knowledge, and physical effort, with safety as a priority.

You will conduct preventive and corrective work, maintain records, and support field operations in compliance with PHMSA and company standards.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; two years in a mechanical environment is needed.
• Prefer Associate’s degree with pipeline experience.
• Ability to read manuals, drawings, schematics and P&ID drawings.
• Must have valid driver’s license and regulatory knowledge (OSHA, DOT, EPA).

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests to markout company facilities and maintain records.
• Locate facilities using maps, drawings, and GPS.
• Perform pigging operations, compressor/meter station duties, and control equipment operation.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including leakage and integrity surveys, valve inspections, and calibration.
• Patrol pipelines and ROWs, and engage with landowners.
• Maintain maintenance records and update as-built drawings.
• Suggest equipment improvements and assist in training.
• Comply with safety, environmental, regulatory, and company requirements.

Adelphia Gateway LLC, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Pipeline Technician to perform pipeline operations and maintenance activities, including operating, repairing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining pipelines, valves, actuators, instrumentation, electronic equipment, tubing, fittings, pig traps, and rectifiers. They will also conduct line locating activities; maintain rights-of-way (ROW), markings, and records; and support foreign line crossing and third-party excavation oversight as well as operate and maintain equipment in compliance with company policies, operational requirements, and regulatory standards while maintaining required operational task qualifications.

Major Responsibilities:

• Respond to requests to markout company facilities in accordance with accepted standards, including associated record-keeping.


• Locate facilities and reference points using maps, drawings, and GPS technology.


• Perform and/or assist with pigging operations, compressor and meter station operations, flow control equipment operation and troubleshooting, facility startups and shutdowns, combustion control troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of related subsystems.


• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including leakage surveys, integrity surveys, cathodic protection surveys, valve inspections, equipment maintenance, and calibration.


• Patrol pipelines and ROWs; maintain pipeline and aerial markers; monitor encroachments; and develop positive relationships with landowners.


• Collect, calculate, compile, and maintain operational data, records, and reports, including maintenance logs, corrosion activities, tank gauging, pipeline patrols, leakage surveys, drip blowing, and construction inspections.


• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update as-built drawings as required.


• Recommend equipment improvements and assist in training less experienced technicians, as needed.


• Comply with all applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, and company requirements.

Position Requirements:

• High School or GED plus two years of experience working in a mechanical related environment is required.


• Associate’s degree with pipeline industry experience is preferred.


• Ability to read and utilize equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, alignment sheets and P&ID drawings.


• Ability to appropriately react to visual, audio and other signals, including alarms and instructions.


• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.


• Ability to maintain a working knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA and state regulations) and Company Standard Operating Procedures including required documentation.


• Required to work indoors and outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment with high noise levels.


• Required to occasionally work in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.


• Must be able to use physical force to lift, push, pull and operate equipment and tools.


• Must be able to work in areas with limited access or cramped spaces.


• Will work with or near hazardous chemicals and may be required to wear SCBA and restrictive PPE.


• May be subject to overtime, 24/7 call out, extended workdays and/or workweeks, and shiftwork based on business requirements


• Will be required to carry a cell phone.

This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) regulations. Among other things, employees in this position are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing and post-accident testing. PHMSA-required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety-sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.

Other Details:

Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $53,500- $72,000.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.

This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
