Job description

A Houston-based midstream energy company is seeking an experienced Pipeline Scheduler for a long-term contract opportunity. This role will support pipeline project scheduling with a focus on linear infrastructure, contractor schedule review, CPM analysis, field execution planning, March charts, and schedule risk identification.

The ideal candidate will have direct pipeline scheduling experience and a strong understanding of how pipeline projects are executed in the field, including mainline construction, tie-ins, HDD, hydrotesting, commissioning, and field crew sequencing. This person should be able to review and validate contractor schedules, identify logic gaps or schedule risks, and work closely with project managers, engineering, gas control, contractors, and field teams. TILOS experience is a strong plus, but the client is open to candidates who have solid pipeline scheduling experience and can read, understand, and validate linear construction schedules or March charts.

This is a long-term contract expected to run through 2029, with potential to extend depending on future project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, vet, optimize, and monitor pipeline project schedules using Oracle Primavera Cloud, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling software.
  • Review contractor-provided schedules for accuracy, logic, sequencing, feasibility, and schedule risk.
  • Analyze critical path schedules to identify constraints, logic gaps, risks, and recovery opportunities.
  • Support pipeline construction schedules involving mainline crews, tie-in crews, HDD, hydrostatic testing, commissioning, restoration, and related field execution activities.
  • Review linear construction schedules, March charts, time-distance schedules, and other pipeline-specific schedule formats.
  • Partner with project managers, gas control, engineering, field teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain schedule alignment.
  • Identify schedule delays, risks, and deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or recovery plans.
  • Monitor progress, milestones, baselines, schedule variances, and contractor updates.
  • Support operational readiness planning and coordination with field execution teams.
  • Travel to project sites as needed to support field schedule review and coordination.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of pipeline scheduling, construction scheduling, or infrastructure scheduling experience.
  • Field experience as a scheduler on pipeline construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline construction sequencing and field execution.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, or similar scheduling software.
  • Strong CPM scheduling knowledge, including logic ties, critical path, baselines, resource loading, and schedule recovery.
  • Ability to review and validate contractor schedules.
  • Familiarity with March charts, linear schedules, or time-distance scheduling.
  • Understanding of mainline crews, tie-ins, HDD, hydrotesting, commissioning, and pipeline field activities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with project managers, contractors, engineering, operations, and field teams.
  • Comfortable working hybrid in Houston, with Monday–Thursday onsite and Friday remote.
  • Willing to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience creating, maintaining, or reviewing March charts / linear construction schedules.
  • Midstream owner/operator experience.
  • Experience with large pipeline projects involving multiple crews and complex sequencing.
  • Experience identifying schedule risk and developing recovery recommendations.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to look ahead and prevent schedule issues rather than only reacting after delays occur.
Compensation
  • Pay: Market / DOE, expected around $75–110/hr depending on experience.
  • Client may consider flexibility for strong pipeline scheduling, TILOS, March chart, and/or linear construction scheduling experience.
Schedule / Work Arrangement
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, generally 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with some flexibility.
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid — Monday–Thursday onsite, Friday remote.
  • Current Office Area: Greenway Plaza area.
  • Future Office Area: CityCentre area later this year.
  • Contract Length: Long-term contract expected through 2029, with potential extension.
  • Travel: Project site visits as needed.
Why This Opportunity
