Job summary

GAS Energy Staffing LLC is seeking a Pipeline Project Engineer for a Houston, TX contract role. You will lead pipeline projects from concept through startup and commissioning, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Develop Lead pipeline projects from concept selection through startup and commissioning.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholder groups.
• Perform technical reviews and risk assessments.
• Interface with clients, operations teams, regulatory agencies, and executive stakeholders.
• Provide advisory and consulting services on complex pipeline engineering matters.
• Perform pipeline design, hydraulic analysis, stress analysis, material selection, and specification development.
• Oversee pipeline route selection and optimization
• Support pipeline integrity management.
• Resolve complex technical issues and provide authoritative engineering recommendations.
• Negotiate critical and complex technical issues with senior engineers and organizational leaders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental permitting processes.

Skills Required

• Minimum 10 years of related pipeline engineering experience, with an average experience level of 15+ years.
• Minimum 10 years of pipeline engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in large-scale oil, gas, liquids, carbon capture, hydrogen, or industrial pipeline infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading pipeline projects from concept selection through startup and commissioning.
• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Expertise in pipeline design, hydraulic analysis, stress analysis, material selection, specification development, route selection, and integrity management.
• Experience with wall thickness calculations.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 195.
• Strong knowledge of ASME standards:
  • B31.4 – Liquid Transportation Systems
  • B31.8 – Gas Transmission and Distribution
  • B31.3 – Process Piping
• Familiarity with API standards:
  • API 5L
  • API 1104
  • API 570
  • API 1160
• Working knowledge of NACE/AMPP corrosion control standards, DOT PHMSA regulations, OSHA requirements, and environmental permitting requirements.
• Experience with the following software:
  • Bentley OpenFlows HAMMER
  • AFT Fathom
  • Caesar II
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • ArcGIS
  • MicroStation
  • PIPE-FLO
• Excellent communication, consulting, and negotiation skills.
