Job summary

Danos is seeking an experienced Pipeline Operator to support oil and gas pipeline operations, line locating, and One Call (811) duties. You will locate underground pipelines with EM locating tools, review tickets, and ensure safe excavation practices in accordance with DOT and PHMSA requirements.

You will read maps and alignment data, maintain records, and coordinate with contractors and field teams to prevent pipeline damage while upholding company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in oil and gas pipeline operations.
• Hands-on underground line locating and One Call (811) procedures.
• Ability to read pipeline maps and drawings.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
• Strong safety mindset and knowledge of DOT/PHMSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pipeline operations, inspections, and routine maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operations.
• Locate and accurately mark underground pipelines using electromagnetic (EM) locating equipment and other approved methods.
• Receive, review, and respond to One Call tickets within required timeframes.
• Identify and mark underground pipelines prior to excavation activities to prevent third-party damage.
• Monitor third-party excavation and construction activities near company pipelines to ensure safe digging practices.
• Conduct pipeline right-of-way inspections and identify potential hazards, encroachments, or unauthorized excavation activities.
• Read and interpret pipeline maps, alignment sheets, and other technical drawings to accurately identify pipeline locations.
• Maintain accurate records of line locates, One Call tickets, inspections, and daily field activities.
• Coordinate with contractors, excavators, and internal operations personnel regarding pipeline locations and safe excavation procedures.
• Identify and report pipeline leaks, equipment malfunctions, and potential safety concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and applicable DOT and PHMSA regulations.

• Hands-on experience with underground pipeline locating and One Call (811) procedures.
• Experience using electromagnetic (EM) pipeline locating equipment.
• Knowledge of underground pipeline systems, including crude oil, natural gas, produced water, and gathering lines.
• Familiarity with pipeline damage prevention practices and safe excavation procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps and underground utility drawings.
• Strong understanding of oilfield safety practices and the ability to work independently in field environments.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various field locations as required.
• Must meet conditional job offer requirements.
