Job summary

Southern Company Gas is seeking an Analyst, Pipeline Investments to help evaluate, develop, and execute interstate pipeline investment opportunities. You will work with System Planning, Gas Operations, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Regulatory, and Legal teams to align with business priorities and regulatory frameworks.

The role supports governance, risk management, portfolio reporting, and coordination of technical, commercial, and regulatory workstreams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, accounting, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, capital budgeting, project/portfolio reporting, or transaction support.
• Understanding of interstate, FERC-regulated pipeline investments and key drivers (tariffs, contracts, throughput, risk).
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills for preparing executive summaries and reports.

Responsibilities

• Support development, evaluation, and execution of pipeline investment initiatives with input from technical, commercial, regulatory, and financial stakeholders.
• Support contract analysis and management activities with Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
• Research market, regulatory, and infrastructure trends to inform investment strategies.
• Develop executive-level summaries and presentations synthesizing diverse inputs.
• Support portfolio management, reporting, and performance tracking including schedules, budgets, milestones, and risks.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to screen and evaluate interstate pipeline capital projects.
