Job description

What We Are Looking For

Support the execution, continuous improvement, and technical development of the Kinder Morgan Assessment Protocol (KMAP) for identifying, classifying, and assessing seam‑related crack‑like anomalies, mechanical damage, and other potentially injurious indications identified in In‑Line Inspection (ILI) data.

General Responsibilities
What You Will Do
  • Perform detailed review of ILI signal data and supporting inspection information to identify, evaluate, and classify ILI indications in accordance with KMAP procedures and assessment methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain clear, complete, and technically defensible documentation of signal reviews, supporting evidence, assessment conclusions, and recommendations to support integrity management decisions.
  • Review historical ILI data, prior assessments, pipeline information, and previous validation results to support anomaly characterization, including run‑to‑run signal comparisons and anomaly correlation, as applicable.
  • Evaluate KMAP assessment outcomes and validation results to identify classification trends, lessons learned, and opportunities to improve KMAP procedures, criteria, methodologies, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Identify and communicate emerging signal patterns or potentially systemic integrity concerns that may warrant additional technical evaluation or integrity action.
  • Perform corrosion growth analyses, anomaly growth evaluations, data trending, and other technical analyses, as applicable.
  • Collaborate in technical peer reviews to promote the accuracy, consistency, and quality of KMAP assessments.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of KMAP procedures, work instructions, decision criteria, technical guidance, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate KMAP conclusions and recommendations through technical reports, assessment summaries, presentations, and other appropriate formats for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Pipeline Integrity Engineers and Analysts, ILI service providers, NDE specialists, field personnel, and other subject matter experts to resolve complex anomaly classifications and support excavation selection and validation activities.
  • Support technical training and knowledge‑sharing activities related to ILI signal interpretation, anomaly classification, field validation, and KMAP assessment methodologies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Need
Job Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, analyze, and interpret ILI data and associated signal responses.

  • Demonstrate accountability, initiative, and a results‑oriented approach in support of group and company objectives.
  • Proactively identify process, procedure, and system improvement opportunities and contribute to near‑term and long‑term initiatives that enhance regulatory compliance, program effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Exercise sound technical judgment when evaluating incomplete, uncertain, or conflicting information.
  • Ensure individual and team deliverables are accurate, timely, and completed in accordance with applicable regulations, standards, policies, procedures, assessment criteria, and quality requirements.
  • Participate constructively in technical peer reviews, consider alternative interpretations, and appropriately address review comments.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple assignments based on their relative importance and adapt to changing circumstances, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively with management, peers, and other stakeholders; remain receptive to alternative perspectives and constructive feedback; and implement appropriate improvements.
